Food Packaging and Sex

Last week the Russian food packaging industry had multiple brushes with sexual politics.

For one, the re-naming of Kraft to ‘Mondelez’ is raising eyebrows in Russia as the name apparently sounds like a Russian term for oral sex. (“манда-лиз”) I must profess my ignorance; I thought the words were ‘ланет’ and ‘минет’. But Professor Irwin Weill explains the linguistic faux pas in more detail:

In a more serious matter, anti-gay activists have slammed the rainbow logo of PepsiCo’s Веселый Молочник (“The Jolly Milkman”) brand of milk, claiming the product “promotes homosexuality in children”:
