It is exceedingly easy to find direct parallels between Russia’s lame duck President Dmitri Medvedev and Peep Show protagonist Mark Corrigan.
Stories that Medvedev likes to drive the streets of Moscow after hours so he can feel like an ‘ordinary driver’ are both adorable and worrisome when you remember that Medvedev confused the brakes with the gas pedal while behind the wheel of an SUV in Kazan back in June. Mark Corrigan is an equally bad driver. I guess the ultimate parallel would be to get a chance to listen to Medvedev’s inner monologues to see if they are equally as neurotic and insecure as the Peep Show character’s.:
